Stage 1 vs Stage 2 Remapping: What Drivers Should Know

You want better response from your car or van, but choosing between Stage 1 and Stage 2 can be confusing. The basic difference is straightforward: Stage 1 generally works with standard engine components, while Stage 2 needs suitable supporting modifications and software matched to them. Stage 2 is not automatically the better choice. Start with what is fitted to your vehicle and what you want from it, rather than the higher stage number. To discuss your options with AdBlue Fix, send your registration, postcode and a photo of any warning by WhatsApp, call us, or use the quote form.
Want better response, or dealing with a warning?
Tell us whether you want to change how your vehicle drives or need help with an AdBlue warning. If there is a countdown on the dashboard, include its wording and say whether the engine currently starts. These are different enquiries, and we need to know which matters first.
For a remapping enquiry, tell us about existing modifications, previous software work and any running problems. Vehicle condition matters when assessing a remap, not just the model or engine size.
Stage 1: software for standard components
A Stage 1 Remap changes settings in the engine computer while generally retaining the vehicle's standard components. It is the option to discuss if you want a performance-focused software change without planning supporting hardware modifications. Suitability still needs checking.
Stage names are not a universal specification. Ask what the proposed work involves for your particular vehicle instead of assuming every Stage 1 service is identical. At AdBlue Fix, we check your registration before quoting and explain which software service we can offer.
Stage 2: the supporting modifications matter
A Stage 2 Remap needs suitable supporting modifications already in place. Requirements depend on the engine and proposed software, so there is no single parts list for every car or van. The software must suit the actual setup, not modifications you might fit later.
AdBlue Fix supplies the software service only. We do not supply or fit supporting components. Send details of any modifications with your enquiry so we can consider them before quoting. If you are unsure what has been changed, say so rather than guessing.
How AdBlue Fix can help
Our main service is AdBlue Delete, also called AdBlue Removal. These are two names for the same software work: we change the engine computer's software so it no longer runs or monitors the AdBlue system, clearing related warnings and the countdown. We do not replace, fit, repair or clean parts, and this does not fix unrelated engine faults.
Stage 1 Remap, Stage 2 Remap, Economy Remap and Performance Remap are separate software services. We also offer software-only DPF Delete and EGR Delete. Each additional service is quoted separately and is never included free with AdBlue work.
Not every vehicle is suitable. We check from your registration before quoting, then arrange a mobile visit where appropriate. We come to your home, workplace or another safe location across England.
Experienced technicians and clear cover
Our technicians bring over 10 years of experience to the work. We provide nationwide mobile coverage across England, and you can read genuine Google reviews before deciding to book. Standard hours are Monday to Sunday, 8 AM to 8 PM, with 24/7 emergency callouts available.
Our No Fix, No Fee promise is straightforward: If we cannot complete the job, there is no charge.
Our Lifetime Software Warranty applies to the software work on that vehicle. If the covered work develops a problem, we correct it again. Later software updates or recalls void the warranty. Callout charges, including emergency callout charges, are not covered.
How to book in three steps
You do not need to choose a stage before contacting us. Give us the vehicle details and explain what you want to achieve.
- 1. Send your registration, postcode and warning details, including a photo if one is showing, by WhatsApp. You can also call or use the quote form. Include any existing modifications.
- 2. We check suitability and provide a quote for the agreed software service, keeping additional work separate.
- 3. Arrange a mobile appointment at your home, work or another safe place.
Customer FAQs
Can I book Stage 2 without supporting modifications?
No. Our Stage 2 service needs suitable supporting modifications. Send your registration and details of the components already fitted so we can check suitability.
Do you fit the parts needed for Stage 2?
No. AdBlue Fix carries out software work only. Supporting hardware work is not part of our service.
Is a remap included with AdBlue Removal?
No. Performance, Economy, Stage 1 and Stage 2 remaps are quoted separately. None is included free with AdBlue Removal.
Will AdBlue Delete fix every engine warning?
No. It addresses the AdBlue system's operation and monitoring through software. Unrelated engine faults are outside that work.
Can I enquire if there is no dashboard warning?
Yes. For a remapping enquiry, send your registration, postcode, existing modification details and what you want from the vehicle. A warning photo is only needed if a warning is showing.
Need Help With an AdBlue Warning?
Send your registration, postcode and a photo of the warning. We check suitability and confirm the price before anything is booked.
