Economy Remap vs Performance Remap: What's Right for Your Car?

Spending more on fuel than you would like, or wishing your car or van felt more responsive? An economy remap focuses on efficient everyday driving. A performance remap focuses on stronger response and performance. The right choice depends on what you want from the vehicle, how you use it and whether it is suitable. Choose economy if fuel use is your priority, or performance if you want a more responsive drive. Neither is a substitute for dealing with an existing engine fault. To discuss your options, WhatsApp AdBlue Fix your registration, postcode and a photo of any warning. You can also call or use the quote form.
What are you hoping to change?
Start with what bothers you during a normal week. Is it fuel spending on regular journeys, or a car that feels less responsive than you would like? For van drivers, explain whether you usually travel lightly loaded or carry equipment.
If the vehicle has suddenly lost power, developed a warning or started behaving differently, tell us before requesting a remap. An unexpected change should not be treated as a reason to add performance software.
- Fuel use is your main concern: ask about an Economy Remap.
- You want stronger response: ask about a Performance Remap.
- There is a warning or sudden loss of performance: describe that first.
Economy vs performance: understand the difference
Both services change settings in the engine computer. An Economy Remap is aimed at supporting efficient driving rather than making outright performance the priority. It does not guarantee lower fuel bills. Your journeys, driving style, vehicle condition and load still matter.
A Performance Remap puts greater emphasis on how the engine responds and delivers its performance. It is the option to discuss when driving response matters more to you than pursuing fuel savings.
Be clear about your main goal rather than expecting one remap to maximise everything. Tell us how you actually use your car or van, not just what you would like to change.
Where do Stage 1 and Stage 2 fit?
Economy and performance describe your priorities. Stage 1 and Stage 2 describe remapping options that need to be considered alongside the vehicle's existing specification. The stage name alone is not enough to decide what suits your car or van.
AdBlue Fix offers Stage 1 Remap and Stage 2 Remap services, quoted separately. Stage 2 needs suitable supporting modifications. We provide software work only, so we do not supply or fit those modifications. Tell us about any existing changes when you enquire.
How AdBlue Fix can help
We check suitability from your registration before quoting. Not every vehicle is suitable. Once the work is agreed, our mobile technicians come to your home, workplace or another safe location across England.
Our main service is AdBlue Delete, also called AdBlue Removal. These are two names for the same software service: we change the engine computer's software so it no longer runs or monitors the AdBlue system, clearing related warnings and the countdown. We do not replace, fit, repair or clean parts, and this does not fix unrelated engine faults.
Economy and Performance Remaps are additional services, quoted separately and never included free with AdBlue work. If you have an AdBlue warning and also want a remap, explain both when contacting us so we can check the requested work.
Why choose our mobile team?
Our technicians bring more than 10 years of experience, with nationwide mobile coverage across England. You can read genuine Google reviews before booking. Standard hours are Monday to Sunday, 8 AM to 8 PM, with 24/7 emergency callouts available.
Our No Fix, No Fee promise is straightforward: If we cannot complete the job, there is no charge.
Our Lifetime Software Warranty applies to the software work on that vehicle. If the covered work develops a problem, we correct it again. Later software updates or recalls void the warranty. Callout charges, including emergency callout charges, are not covered.
Book your mobile appointment in three steps
You do not need to choose a software package before speaking to us. Start with your vehicle details and what you want to achieve.
- Send your registration, postcode and warning details, including a photo if a warning is showing. Use WhatsApp, call us or complete the quote form.
- We check suitability and quote for the agreed software services.
- Arrange a mobile appointment at your home, work or another safe place.
Customer FAQs
Will an Economy Remap definitely save fuel?
No. It is aimed at efficient driving, but savings are not guaranteed. Driving style, journey type, vehicle condition and the load you carry all affect fuel use.
Is a Performance Remap suitable for a van?
It may be. Send your registration and explain how you use the van, including its usual load. We check suitability before quoting rather than assuming every van can be remapped.
Does an Economy Remap clear an AdBlue countdown?
No. Economy remapping and AdBlue software work are separate services. Tell us about the countdown when enquiring so we can check suitability for AdBlue Delete or Removal.
Do I need modifications for a Stage 2 Remap?
Yes. Stage 2 requires suitable supporting modifications. AdBlue Fix handles the software only and does not supply or fit parts.
Can I book if there is no dashboard warning?
Yes. For a remapping enquiry, send your registration, postcode and your main goal. A warning photo is only needed if a warning is showing.
Need Help With an AdBlue Warning?
Send your registration, postcode and a photo of the warning. We check suitability and confirm the price before anything is booked.
