What's wrong?

Common AdBlue Problems on the Jaguar E-Pace

AdBlue system faults on a Jaguar E-Pace can be a real headache, often leading to a no-start countdown. You need a convenient fix. AdBlue Fix provides a specialist mobile service, sending our technicians to your home or work. Just give us your registration and postcode for a clear quote.

  • Restart Countdown

What it means: The most critical warning you can get. It displays a countdown of miles or starts remaining, after which the E-Pace will not start. This is activated when the ECU finds a serious problem in the AdBlue or SCR system.

When you contact us: send your Jaguar E-Pace registration and a photo of the message.

  • AdBlue System Fault

What it means: A common but important warning that signals a fault has been logged somewhere in the AdBlue system. The source could be a faulty sensor, the injector, the pump, or another component.

When you contact us: send your Jaguar E-Pace registration and a photo of the message.

  • Incorrect Diesel Exhaust Fluid Warning

What it means: This message appears when the system detects poor quality or contaminated fluid, which is often caused by a faulty quality sensor in the AdBlue tank. The warning can appear even if you have used the correct AdBlue fluid.

When you contact us: send your Jaguar E-Pace registration and a photo of the message.

  • AdBlue Level Warning Stays On After Refilling

What it means: Even after topping up the AdBlue, the dashboard warning refuses to clear. This usually points to a failed level sensor within the AdBlue tank which is unable to detect that the tank is now full.

When you contact us: send your Jaguar E-Pace registration and a photo of the message.

  • NOx Sensor Fault

What it means: Nitrogen oxide (NOx) sensors are vital for the emissions control system. If one fails, it can cause AdBlue-related warnings, as the engine's ECU uses their readings to check if the system is working correctly.

When you contact us: send your Jaguar E-Pace registration and a photo of the message.

  • Engine Management Light (EML)

What it means: The engine management light often comes on at the same time as an AdBlue warning. This simply means the ECU has stored a fault code linked to the emissions system.

When you contact us: send your Jaguar E-Pace registration and a photo of the message.

What we do

Mobile AdBlue Delete & Removal for Your Jaguar E-Pace

Our mobile specialists can assess your enquiry using your vehicle details and explain the available AdBlue service options. Once suitability, price and an appointment have been confirmed, we arrange attendance at an appropriate location.

When we arrive, we first run a full diagnostic check to verify the issue is with the AdBlue SCR system. We then carry out the AdBlue delete entirely through software. This involves reading the existing software from your E-Pace's engine control unit (ECU), carefully modifying it to deactivate the AdBlue functions, and then writing it back. This stops the warnings from reappearing. If your ECU has security protection, specialist unlocking may be needed; we will identify this and quote for it beforehand. We can perform this service at any suitable location, like your house or office. Optional performance or economy remaps are also available for compatible vehicles.

  • The AdBlue warning and restart countdown are cleared
  • No more buying or topping up AdBlue fluid
  • Done at the vehicle, wherever it is parked
  • No Fix, No Fee: if the job cannot be completed, you pay nothing
  • Eligible work carries a lifetime software warranty

Your vehicle

Jaguar E-Pace AdBlue Information

Is my Jaguar E-Pace fitted with AdBlue? As not all diesel models have it, we never assume. We confirm by checking your vehicle's registration against its engine, build data, and ECU type. This is the only way to be certain, as fitment varies by model year and exact specification. We do this check before every booking.

Jaguar E-Pace AdBlue Delete and Removal

A low-fluid warning, an SCR malfunction and a restart countdown need different checks. Before agreeing any work, confirm whether the vehicle starts, record the displayed message and obtain the complete fault codes where available. The proposed approach should be based on those findings rather than an assumption that every warning has the same cause.

  • Confirm the engine and SCR specification using your registration
  • Record the warning and remaining countdown distance
  • Check stored faults and relevant operating data
  • Agree the work and its limitations before booking
Later Jaguar E-Pace diesel (2022 onwards): AdBlue and SCR

The non-hybrid D165 manual continued into 2022, beyond the page's 2021 coverage. Jaguar explicitly distinguishes this engine from the AWD mild-hybrid diesels. Actual 2022 UK vehicles establish its release, and Jaguar states that SCR using AdBlue is fitted to all its diesel vehicles from model year 2016. This is a coverage extension, not a newly introduced engine.

  • Diesel engines: D165: 2.0-litre four-cylinder diesel, 163PS, front-wheel drive, six-speed manual; non-MHEV.
  • SCR/AdBlue fitment confirmed for this version. We still check your registration before quoting.
SCR Fitment by Model and Year

UK E-Pace diesel models use 2.0-litre Ingenium engines with SCR and AdBlue. Launch-era and later diesel badges differ, and registration dates do not always identify the model year. Petrol versions, including the petrol plug-in hybrid, do not use AdBlue. Send your registration for exact fitment confirmation.

  • D150, D180 and D240: earlier diesel range introduced at the 2017 launch
  • D165 and D200: later diesel range introduced around the 2021 model-year update
  • Mild-hybrid equipment varies by version and does not remove the diesel's AdBlue requirement
  • Confirm build specification before selecting parts or software
Dashboard Warnings and Fault Codes

Warnings may concern fluid level, dosing, fluid quality or a restart restriction. A quality warning does not by itself prove the fluid is contaminated, and a low-level warning should not automatically be treated as a sensor failure. Record the exact wording and seek assessment promptly if a countdown appears.

  • P208E: reductant injection valve stuck closed, bank 1 unit 1
  • P204F: reductant system performance, bank 1
  • Check complete Jaguar fault descriptions and suffixes before interpreting a code
  • Upstream and downstream NOx sensors are not the same as Bank 1 and Bank 2
  • Not every P20xx code identifies an AdBlue fault
Mobile Assessment and Quote Process

Tell us if the countdown has reached zero or the vehicle will not start. Mobile attendance depends on coverage, safe access and the work required; some faults may need workshop facilities or recovery. Confirm the scope, cost and applicable terms before accepting a booking.

  • Send vehicle and location details
  • Describe the warning and starting condition
  • Agree the proposed work and quote before proceeding
Technical terms in plain English
AdBlue (also called UREA or DEF)
A fluid many modern diesels use to clean their exhaust. The car monitors it closely and warns you when it thinks something is wrong.
SCR system
The part of the exhaust that uses AdBlue. When it reports a fault, the dashboard warnings and countdown appear.
NOx sensor
A sensor that measures exhaust gases. A faulty reading is one of the most common reasons the warning appears.
ECU
The vehicle's main computer. Our service is software work carried out on it, at your vehicle.

Ask an AdBlue Specialist on WhatsApp

Jaguar E-Pace: questions owners ask us

Why is the AdBlue warning still on my E-Pace after I've refilled it?+

This happens frequently. The cause is often a fault elsewhere in the system that stops the warning from clearing, or a failed sensor in the tank that cannot register the new fluid level.

What is the 'no restart' countdown on my Jaguar E-Pace?+

Jaguar programmed this feature to ensure emissions standards are met. If a major AdBlue system error occurs, the car will not let you start the engine again once the countdown ends. Our software modification is designed to disable this function.

Does the ECU on my E-Pace need unlocking for an AdBlue delete?+

This depends entirely on the specific ECU fitted to your Jaguar E-Pace. Some later ECUs have security protection that needs to be unlocked by a specialist method. This service has an additional cost, which we will always confirm with you before any work begins. The car's age isn't the deciding factor.

How can I be certain my E-Pace uses AdBlue?+

You cannot rely on the model year or engine badge. To confirm if your Jaguar E-Pace has an AdBlue system we can work on, we need your registration number. This lets us check the exact engine, ECU type, and emissions data to provide an accurate quote.

What are SCR and NOx faults on a Jaguar E-Pace?+

These faults are all linked to the AdBlue system. SCR stands for Selective Catalytic Reduction, which is the process of using AdBlue to convert harmful NOx (Nitrogen Oxide) emissions. A problem with any part of this process will cause warnings to appear on your dash.

My E-Pace is our family car, is this service a good idea?+

Of course. We know that you depend on your E-Pace. Our service is designed for maximum convenience; we come directly to you to perform the work, helping you get your car running reliably again.

How much time is needed for the AdBlue removal?+

For most vehicles, the software modification takes around one to two hours. In cases where the ECU needs to be unlocked, it can take longer. We will give you a time estimate when you book.

What areas do you cover?+

Our mobile service operates from our base in Slough and covers Heathrow, Greater London, the home counties, and much of England. To check if we can get to you, please provide your postcode with your enquiry.

What is the cost of an AdBlue delete for a Jaguar E-Pace?+

Pricing varies based on your car's age, engine, and the type of engine control unit (ECU) it has. If you send us your vehicle registration and postcode, we can give you a precise quote with no obligation.

Is there a difference between AdBlue Delete and AdBlue Removal?+

No, these are just two terms for the same service. Both AdBlue Delete and AdBlue Removal refer to the process of reprogramming the engine's ECU software to turn off the AdBlue system.

Does the later Jaguar E-Pace diesel (2022 onwards) use AdBlue?+

Yes. The First generation, facelift; later non-hybrid diesel coverage D165: 2.0-litre four-cylinder diesel, 163PS, front-wheel drive, six-speed manual; non-MHEV diesel versions use SCR with AdBlue. Send your registration so we can confirm your exact engine before quoting for AdBlue Delete and Removal.

Does the Jaguar E-Pace use AdBlue?+

UK E-Pace 2.0-litre Ingenium diesels use SCR with AdBlue. Petrol and petrol plug-in hybrid versions do not. Send your registration so we can confirm your vehicle's specification.

Which Jaguar E-Pace engines and years have SCR?+

The E-Pace launched in 2017 with D150, D180 and D240 diesel options. Later model-year ranges included D165 and D200 diesels, with availability varying by year and specification. These diesel variants use AdBlue; send your registration to confirm the engine and system fitted.

What does an AdBlue warning mean on my Jaguar E-Pace?+

The exact message matters. A low-level warning may require an appropriate refill, while dosing, quality or emissions warnings can indicate an SCR fault. A countdown warns that restarting may be prevented when the displayed allowance expires; it does not normally mean the engine will stop while driving.

What can cause a no-start countdown on a Jaguar E-Pace?+

Possible causes include a low AdBlue level, incorrect or contaminated fluid, dosing or pressure faults, NOx sensor faults and wiring problems. A countdown is not proof that any particular component has failed or that the fault is unrecoverable.

What information do you need to quote for my Jaguar E-Pace?+

Send your registration, postcode and contact number, together with the exact dashboard message. A photograph and any complete fault-code report, including code suffixes, help us assess the enquiry.

Can you attend my postcode for my Jaguar E-Pace?+

Send your postcode and tell us whether the vehicle starts and where it is parked. We can then confirm mobile coverage, access requirements and whether the proposed work is suitable at that location.

What warranty applies to the agreed work?+

Our Lifetime Software Warranty applies to the software work on that vehicle. If the covered software work develops a problem, we correct it again.

How do I send a fault code or photo by WhatsApp?+

Include your registration, postcode and whether the vehicle still starts.

Do you replace AdBlue parts on the Jaguar E-Pace?+

No. We specialise in mobile software AdBlue Delete and Removal for compatible cars and vans. We do not replace tanks, pumps, heaters, injectors or NOx sensors. Send your registration and postcode and we'll confirm whether the Jaguar E-Pace is suitable, with the price agreed before work starts.

Do you offer 24/7 emergency callouts?+

Yes. Our normal business hours are 8 AM to 8 PM, Monday to Sunday, and we also offer a 24/7 emergency callout service across England. We confirm the price with you before a technician is sent.
