Not every diesel A6 has an AdBlue system. Selected C7 clean diesel versions used SCR before the facelift, while SCR became more widespread on facelift Euro 6 diesels. Ultra branding is not a reliable fitment check by itself. Older versions without SCR still use other emissions-control systems. Your registration and build details are needed to identify the correct equipment.
- C7: selected earlier 3.0 TDI clean diesel versions and many facelift 2.0 TDI and 3.0 TDI versions have SCR; confirm the individual specification.
- C8: TDI versions use SCR; petrol and petrol plug-in hybrid versions do not use AdBlue.
- Later A6 generation: a successor arrived in 2025, so confirm the generation rather than relying on registration year alone.
- EA288 and EA897 evo identify engine families, not individual engine codes.
- The AdBlue filler is commonly behind the fuel flap on later versions; check the handbook for the specific car. The filler position is not the tank location.
