What's wrong?

Common AdBlue Problems on the Mercedes-Benz Vito

Mercedes-Benz Vito AdBlue Delete and Removal enquiries start with checking SCR fitment and understanding the fault. If your van shows an AdBlue warning or a distance-to-no-start countdown, send your registration, postcode and the exact message. These details help establish the likely system fitted and whether a mobile assessment is suitable.

  • AdBlue warning light

What it means: A yellow or amber AdBlue, UREA or emissions symbol on the dashboard.

When you contact us: send your Mercedes-Benz Vito registration and a photo of the message.

  • Engine restart countdown

What it means: A message such as "No engine start in 500 miles". It counts down as you drive.

When you contact us: send your Mercedes-Benz Vito registration and a photo of the message.

  • UREA or emissions system warning

What it means: A message telling you to service the emissions or AdBlue system.

When you contact us: send your Mercedes-Benz Vito registration and a photo of the message.

  • Warning not clearing after a refill

What it means: You have topped up the AdBlue but the message stays on.

When you contact us: send your Mercedes-Benz Vito registration and a photo of the message.

  • Vehicle will not start

What it means: The countdown has reached zero and the engine will not restart.

When you contact us: send your Mercedes-Benz Vito registration and a photo of the message.

What we do

Mobile AdBlue Delete & Removal for Your Mercedes-Benz Vito

Our mobile specialists can assess your enquiry using your vehicle details and explain the available AdBlue service options. Once suitability, price and an appointment have been confirmed, we arrange attendance at an appropriate location.

Not every Vito has an AdBlue system. On SCR-equipped W447 diesels, an AdBlue warning may relate to fluid level, dosing performance, sensors or wiring.

Mercedes-Benz Vito AdBlue Delete and Removal

  • Confirm SCR fitment using the registration and vehicle details
  • Record the exact warning and remaining distance, if shown
  • Check whether the engine still starts
  • Agree the scope of work after assessment

Mercedes-Benz Vito W447, 2024 facelift (2024 onwards): AdBlue and SCR

Add the released 2024 facelift with its revised cabin, infotainment and safety equipment. UK specifications establish the three diesel outputs, and the March 2024 Mercedes-Benz manual explicitly documents AdBlue.

  • Diesel engines: 114 CDI, 136 hp; 116 CDI, 163 hp; 119 CDI, 190 hp; 2.0-litre four-cylinder diesels.
  • SCR/AdBlue fitment confirmed for this version. We still check your registration before quoting.

AdBlue Delete & Removal and Component Checks

An SCR system can include a heated AdBlue tank, pump, dosing injector, NOx sensors and associated wiring. Its precise layout depends on the variant. A fluid-quality code does not by itself prove contaminated AdBlue, and a NOx-related code does not automatically condemn a sensor.

  • The AdBlue warning and restart countdown are cleared
  • No more buying or topping up AdBlue fluid
  • Done at the vehicle, wherever it is parked
  • No Fix, No Fee: if the job cannot be completed, you pay nothing
  • Eligible work carries a lifetime software warranty

Mercedes-Benz Vito AdBlue Information

SCR Fitment by Model and Engine Code

The W447 arrived in 2014 with specifications that varied by engine and emissions standard. The generation's launch date is not a reliable AdBlue cutoff, and a CDI badge alone does not confirm SCR. Use the following as a guide and send your registration for a vehicle-specific check.

  • W447: UK Euro 6 diesel versions generally have SCR; early Euro 5 versions may not
  • OM622: 1.6-litre four-cylinder diesel; verify emissions specification before assuming AdBlue fitment
  • OM651: 2.1-litre four-cylinder diesel used in both non-SCR and SCR applications
  • OM654: later 2.0-litre W447 diesel applications generally use SCR
  • W639, including the OM642-powered 122 CDI: not a suitable UK AdBlue application to advertise without evidence of an unusual vehicle specification
Technical terms in plain English
AdBlue (also called UREA or DEF)
A fluid many modern diesels use to clean their exhaust. The car monitors it closely and warns you when it thinks something is wrong.
SCR system
The part of the exhaust that uses AdBlue. When it reports a fault, the dashboard warnings and countdown appear.
NOx sensor
A sensor that measures exhaust gases. A faulty reading is one of the most common reasons the warning appears.
ECU
The vehicle's main computer. Our service is software work carried out on it, at your vehicle.

Ask an AdBlue Specialist on WhatsApp

Mercedes-Benz Vito: questions owners ask us

Does my Mercedes-Benz Vito have AdBlue?+

Not all versions are equipped with it. Send us your registration and we will check your specific vehicle.

Can you help with a no-restart countdown on my Mercedes-Benz Vito?+

Yes. Please get in touch the moment the countdown starts and let us know how many miles are left. It is always better to schedule a visit before the counter hits zero, after which the car will not restart.

Is AdBlue Removal the same as AdBlue Delete?+

Yes, they are. Both terms describe the same software-based service.

Do you come to me?+

Yes, we do. Our service is fully mobile, covering all of England. We can visit you at home, your workplace, or another suitable location.

How do I get a quotation?+

For a quote, please send us your vehicle's registration, your postcode, and a picture of the dashboard warning. You can do this via WhatsApp, by calling us, or by using the form on our website. We will then check if your vehicle is suitable and provide a fixed price before arranging an appointment.

Does the Mercedes-Benz Vito W447, 2024 facelift (2024 onwards) use AdBlue?+

Yes. The W447, 2024 facelift 114 CDI, 136 hp; 116 CDI, 163 hp; 119 CDI, 190 hp; 2.0-litre four-cylinder diesels diesel versions use SCR with AdBlue. Send your registration so we can confirm your exact engine before quoting for AdBlue Delete and Removal.

Does the Mercedes-Benz Vito use AdBlue?+

AdBlue Delete and Removal enquiries first require confirmation that your Vito has SCR. UK Euro 6 W447 diesel versions generally use AdBlue, but some early W447 diesels were Euro 5 without it. UK W639 diesels should not be assumed to have SCR. Send your registration so we can check your version.

Which Mercedes-Benz Vito engines and years have SCR?+

Relevant W447 engines include the 1.6-litre OM622, 2.1-litre OM651 and later 2.0-litre OM654. SCR fitment depends on the emissions specification and production date, not simply the engine family. Early OM622 and OM651 applications include non-SCR versions. The W639 OM642 3.0-litre V6 is not a suitable UK Vito AdBlue fitment example. Send your registration to confirm your engine and emissions equipment.

What does an AdBlue warning mean on my Mercedes-Benz Vito?+

It may indicate a low AdBlue level or an SCR fault involving dosing, fluid quality, sensors or electrical components. Refill recognition can depend on the quantity added and the procedure specified in the handbook.

What can cause a no-start countdown on a Mercedes-Benz Vito?+

A countdown can follow a critically low AdBlue level or a detected SCR malfunction. Possible faults include inadequate dosing pressure, sensor or wiring problems and heating-system faults. The exact dashboard wording matters: a remaining-distance warning is different from a message saying that starting is already prevented.

What information do you need to quote for my Mercedes-Benz Vito?+

Registration helps identify the likely specification; a scan may be needed to confirm the installed control unit and fault.

Can you attend my postcode for my Mercedes-Benz Vito?+

Send your postcode and describe where the van is parked so mobile coverage, access and suitability can be checked. If starting is already prevented, mention this before booking. Attendance and the work possible on-site depend on the location and fault.

What warranty applies to the agreed work?+

Our Lifetime Software Warranty applies to the software work on that vehicle. If the covered software work develops a problem, we correct it again.

How do I send a fault code or photo by WhatsApp?+

Include all code suffixes and descriptions. Photos help with initial assessment but may not establish the cause without testing.

Do you replace AdBlue parts on the Mercedes-Benz Vito?+

No. We specialise in mobile software AdBlue Delete and Removal for compatible cars and vans. We do not replace tanks, pumps, heaters, injectors or NOx sensors. Send your registration and postcode and we'll confirm whether the Mercedes-Benz Vito is suitable, with the price agreed before work starts.

Do you offer 24/7 emergency callouts?+

Yes. Our normal business hours are 8 AM to 8 PM, Monday to Sunday, and we also offer a 24/7 emergency callout service across England. We confirm the price with you before a technician is sent.
