What we do

Mobile AdBlue Delete & Removal for Your Volkswagen Golf

Our mobile specialists can assess your enquiry using your vehicle details and explain the available AdBlue service options. Once suitability, price and an appointment have been confirmed, we arrange attendance at an appropriate location.

AdBlue Delete and AdBlue Removal both refer to our software-only service. Our process involves modifying your Volkswagen Golf's engine software to bypass the AdBlue system entirely. This stops it from running or being monitored, which clears any related dash warnings or countdown timers. We do not touch or replace any physical parts. Before we book you in, we first check your vehicle's suitability using its registration number. If we determine we cannot perform the work, we will let you know immediately.

  • The AdBlue warning and restart countdown are cleared
  • No more buying or topping up AdBlue fluid
  • Done at the vehicle, wherever it is parked
  • No Fix, No Fee: if the job cannot be completed, you pay nothing
  • Eligible work carries a lifetime software warranty

Your vehicle

Volkswagen Golf AdBlue Information

The 2.0 TDI engine in the Golf Mk8 (2020 onwards), including the GTD, is fitted with AdBlue. The majority of Mk7 and Mk7.5 diesels (2013-2020) were not, though some later examples can vary. AdBlue is not used in petrol or hybrid Golf models. We can confirm your car's exact specification from its registration.

Volkswagen Golf AdBlue Delete and Removal

Before discussing work, we need to establish whether your Golf has an AdBlue-equipped SCR system. Many Mk7 diesels instead use a NOx storage catalyst.

  • Mk7 and facelift Mk7: SCR is fitted to some later 1.6 TDI and 2.0 TDI variants; confirm individually.
  • Mk8: UK 2.0 TDI versions use twin-dosing SCR, with exact equipment depending on specification.
  • BlueMotion and GTD badges do not independently confirm AdBlue fitment.
  • A DPF filters soot; its presence does not establish whether the vehicle uses AdBlue.
Volkswagen Golf AdBlue by Generation: Mk6 to Mk8.5 (2008 to 2026)

AdBlue fitment on the Golf changed with each generation and emissions update. Use this as a guide only. We confirm the exact system from your registration before quoting for AdBlue Delete and Removal.

  • Golf Mk6 (2008 to 2012), 1.6 TDI and 2.0 TDI: Euro 5 common-rail diesels without an AdBlue/SCR system on UK cars. AdBlue warnings do not apply; DPF and EGR faults are more relevant.
  • Golf Mk7 (2013 to 2016), 1.6 TDI and 2.0 TDI (EA288): most UK cars use a NOx storage catalyst instead of AdBlue. SCR should not be assumed. Check by registration.
  • Golf Mk7.5 facelift (2017 to 2020), 1.6 TDI and 2.0 TDI: later Euro 6d-TEMP versions, especially 2.0 TDI, may use SCR with AdBlue. Fitment varies by engine code and build date.
  • Golf Mk8 (2020 to 2024), 2.0 TDI 115 PS, 150 PS and GTD 200 PS (EA288 evo): twin-dosing SCR with two AdBlue injection points and NOx sensors before and after the SCR catalysts. No 1.6 TDI is offered.
  • Golf Mk8.5 facelift (2024 to 2026), 2.0 TDI 115 PS manual and 150 PS DSG: twin-dosing SCR as on the Mk8. UK diesel Golf sales were reported to end in July 2026, so 2026 diesels are run-out stock rather than new factory orders.
Golf Mk8 and Mk8.5 Twin-Dosing SCR and NOx Sensors

Twin-dosing Golfs inject AdBlue at two points in the exhaust, so faults can come from either injector, the shared pump and tank, the heater circuits or one of several NOx sensors. A countdown on a Mk8 or Mk8.5 needs the stored codes read before any part is blamed.

  • Upstream and downstream NOx sensors report conversion efficiency; implausible readings can trigger a countdown.
  • P20E8 means reductant (AdBlue) pressure too low, often a pump, filter, line or level issue.
  • P208E means the reductant injection valve is stuck closed, an injector or wiring issue, not the same fault as P20E8.
  • Tank heater and level-sender faults are common in cold weather and can cause refill or system-fault messages.
Golf AdBlue Warnings and Fault Codes

Dashboard wording varies by instrument cluster and software version. Record whether the message requests a refill, reports a system fault or gives a distance before restarting is prevented.

  • P20E8: Reductant pressure too low.
  • P204F: Reductant system performance, bank 1.
  • P20EE: SCR NOx catalyst efficiency below threshold, bank 1.
  • P208E: Reductant injection valve stuck closed, bank 1 unit 1.
  • P2002: Diesel particulate filter efficiency below threshold, bank 1. This concerns the DPF and is not an AdBlue-specific code.
AdBlue Delete & Removal Options

Golf inline diesel engines have one cylinder bank; NOx sensors must be identified by their actual position and vehicle-specific designation, not described as bank 1 and bank 2 alternatives. Crystallisation can affect dosing components, but visible deposits alone do not establish the cause.

Mobile Appointments

Provide your registration and postcode, describe the warning and confirm whether the engine starts. Scope, price and availability should be agreed before booking. Completion time depends on the fault, required tests and parts availability; a no-start vehicle may still require recovery if the necessary work cannot be completed on site.

Request a Volkswagen Golf Assessment

For AdBlue Delete and Removal enquiries, send your vehicle details using the site's contact options. The engine generation alone does not confirm SCR fitment or the correct procedure.

  • Registration and postcode.
  • Dashboard warning photo, including any remaining countdown.
Technical terms in plain English
AdBlue (also called UREA or DEF)
A fluid many modern diesels use to clean their exhaust. The car monitors it closely and warns you when it thinks something is wrong.
SCR system
The part of the exhaust that uses AdBlue. When it reports a fault, the dashboard warnings and countdown appear.
NOx sensor
A sensor that measures exhaust gases. A faulty reading is one of the most common reasons the warning appears.
ECU
The vehicle's main computer. Our service is software work carried out on it, at your vehicle.

Ask an AdBlue Specialist on WhatsApp

Volkswagen Golf: questions owners ask us

Does my VW Golf have AdBlue?+

Yes, Mk8 diesels from 2020 onwards do. Most diesels from the Mk7 and Mk7.5 generations do not. Send us your registration and we can confirm for you.

Can you help with a no-restart countdown on my VW Golf?+

Yes. Please get in touch the moment the countdown starts and let us know how many miles are left. It is always better to schedule a visit before the counter hits zero, after which the car will not restart.

Is AdBlue Removal the same as AdBlue Delete?+

Yes, they are. Both terms describe the same software-based service.

Do you come to me?+

Yes, we do. Our service is fully mobile, covering all of England. We can visit you at home, your workplace, or another suitable location.

How do I get a quotation?+

For a quote, please send us your vehicle's registration, your postcode, and a picture of the dashboard warning. You can do this via WhatsApp, by calling us, or by using the form on our website. We will then check if your vehicle is suitable and provide a fixed price before arranging an appointment.

Does the 2026 Volkswagen Golf use AdBlue?+

Yes, the diesel Golf Mk8.5 2.0 TDI (115 PS and 150 PS) uses twin-dosing SCR with AdBlue. Petrol, eHybrid and GTI versions do not. UK diesel sales were reported to end in July 2026, so most 2026 diesels are stock cars.

Which Golf Mk8.5 diesel engines have SCR?+

Both UK Mk8.5 diesels, the 2.0 TDI 115 PS manual and 2.0 TDI 150 PS DSG, use twin-dosing SCR. There is no 1.6 TDI in the Mk8 or Mk8.5 range.

Does a Golf Mk6 or early Mk7 have AdBlue?+

UK Golf Mk6 diesels do not have AdBlue. Most Mk7 diesels use a NOx storage catalyst instead. Some later Mk7.5 diesels can have SCR, so send your registration and we will check.

Does the Volkswagen Golf use AdBlue?+

No. AdBlue Delete and Removal enquiries first require confirmation that your Golf has SCR. Many Mk7 diesels use a NOx storage catalyst without AdBlue, while later Mk7 variants and Mk8 diesels can have SCR. Petrol Golfs do not use AdBlue. Send your registration so we can check your version.

Which Volkswagen Golf engines and years have SCR?+

SCR is fitted to some later Mk7 1.6 TDI and 2.0 TDI versions, particularly around the later emissions updates. It should not be assumed from a 2015-onwards registration, BlueMotion badge or GTD badge. The UK Mk8 diesel range, introduced in 2020, uses 2.0 TDI engines with twin-dosing SCR. Send your registration to confirm the engine and emissions equipment.

What does an AdBlue warning mean on my Volkswagen Golf?+

It may indicate a low AdBlue level or an SCR system fault. Read the complete message: a refill warning and a system-fault warning need different checks. If a no-restart countdown is displayed, the vehicle may prevent a subsequent start when the remaining allowance is exhausted. Send a photo of the message and your registration.

What can cause a no-start countdown on a Volkswagen Golf?+

Possible causes include insufficient AdBlue, inadequate dosing pressure, an injector fault, heater or wiring faults, implausible NOx sensor readings or poor SCR conversion. A countdown alone does not identify the failed part.

What information do you need to quote for my Volkswagen Golf?+

Send your registration, postcode, mileage and the exact dashboard message.

Can you attend my postcode for my Volkswagen Golf?+

Send your postcode to check mobile coverage and appointment availability. Attendance depends on your location, safe access and the work required; some faults may need workshop facilities or recovery.

What warranty applies to the agreed work?+

Our Lifetime Software Warranty applies to the software work on that vehicle. If the covered software work develops a problem, we correct it again.

How do I send a fault code or photo by WhatsApp?+

Include all code suffixes where available.

Do you replace AdBlue parts on the Volkswagen Golf?+

No. We specialise in mobile software AdBlue Delete and Removal for compatible cars and vans. We do not replace tanks, pumps, heaters, injectors or NOx sensors. Send your registration and postcode and we'll confirm whether the Volkswagen Golf is suitable, with the price agreed before work starts.

Do you offer 24/7 emergency callouts?+

Yes. Our normal business hours are 8 AM to 8 PM, Monday to Sunday, and we also offer a 24/7 emergency callout service across England. We confirm the price with you before a technician is sent.
