Which Toyota Proace versions use AdBlue?
SCR-equipped Euro 6 Proace diesels include 1.6-litre, 1.5-litre and 2.0-litre versions, depending on production date and specification. Earlier Euro 5 versions should not be assumed to have AdBlue, and Proace Electric does not use it. Registration or VIN checks are more reliable than engine size or registration year alone.

Warnings, countdowns and diagnostic codes
A low AdBlue level warning is not the same as an SCR malfunction warning. A countdown may relate to low fluid or a detected system fault, depending on the displayed message and vehicle specification. If a warning persists after a correct refill, investigate rather than repeatedly adding fluid. Codes guide testing but do not prove that the tank, pump or sensor needs replacement.
- U029E: Lost communication with NOx sensor B. Check power, earth and communication wiring as well as the sensor module.
- P20E8: Reductant pressure too low. Investigate pressure generation, leaks, supply and pressure measurement.
- P208E: Reductant injection valve stuck closed, bank 1 unit 1. A blockage is one possible cause, not the code definition.
- P2BAD: NOx exceedance, root cause unknown. Confirm the vehicle-specific description and investigate SCR performance.
- P2002: Diesel particulate filter efficiency below threshold, bank 1. This concerns the DPF and is not direct evidence of an AdBlue tank fault.

AdBlue Delete and Removal: understand the scope
These terms generally describe changes intended to disable SCR functions rather than restore them. They should not be presented as guaranteed cures for every warning or starting restriction. Faults involving the DPF, engine management, wiring or other systems may remain. Confirm the vehicle specification and the cause of the symptoms before discussing any proposed work.
